Mental Health Day Program

The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital is facilitating a mental health day program aimed at helping patients with depression and anxiety.

This program will occur in a confidential and supportive environment to assist individuals experiencing difficulties in their lives to explore their emotional, psychological and interpersonal style of relating to others, helping them to:

  • Develop Skills
  • Learn problem-solving tools
  • Broaden their understanding
  • Adapt to life's challenges more effectively
  • Achieve a more meaningful, enriched life

The groups will assist the individual to stabilise their mental and emotional state by restoring or developing adaptive strategies so they can cope better and move forward in their lives. Individual therapy, where the participant is seen on a one to one basis, will also occur.

Treatment Modules
A range of theoretical models underpin the foundation of the group work, including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Dialectic Behaviour Therapy
  • Interpersonal / Rational Development
  • Interpersonal Therapy
  • Mindfulness Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Principles
  • Creative Arts Therapy
  • Grief and Loss Therapy

The Day Program is offered three days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) over ten weeks. The Day Program is offered 3 days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) over ten weeks. The multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals consists of a psychiatrist, a psychologist and credentialed mental health nurse therapists.
